I think that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree.
A tree whose hungry mouth is prest
Against the earth’s sweet flowing breast;
A tree that looks at God all day,
And lifts her leafy arms to pray;
A tree that may in Summer wear
A nest of robins in her hair;
Upon whose bosom snow has lain;
Who intimately lives with rain.
Poems are made by fools like me,
But only God can make a tree.
Step inside the main reading room of the Clarion Free Library and look for our Giving Tree, stately and charming, and ready to welcome you with soaring branches and open arms! The Giving Tree Fund is an awesome way for individuals and organizations to contribute to the library's endowment fund in order to secure a bright future for our library.
Created by two talented local Pennsylvania artists, the Giving Tree is a work of art lovely as a well-crafted poem. Master woodcarver Dave Fair hand carved the tree while renowned metal artist Bobbie Menetti Shaffer crafted the oak leaves on the tree from sheet copper.
Those donating to the Giving Tree Fund will have their name placed one of the handcrafted copper leaves. The minumum donation to have your gift acknowledged with a leaf is $500. Larger gifts are accepted and can be paid in yearly installments. The Clarion Free Library is a 501(c)3 organization, and all gifts to the library's Giving Tree Fund are tax deductible.
Donations can be given as a memorial to a friend or family member.
